Rates

Typically, you can expect to spend between $135 and $250 per hour for a professional D.J. depending upon the type of event, equipment needed, and experience of the D.J.  Beware: D.J.s who charge a lot less money usually have a good reason. The general rule of thumb "You get what you pay for" should be followed when choosing a D.J.

Availability

Our founder, Leland Emmett McHatton, and our other experienced D.J.s and emcees book up months and in some cases, over a year in advance. As the founder of Emmett's Sound Productions, Lee has been a disc jockey since 1977 - experience that is in high demand. So, be sure to call and book early!

In addition to Lee, we have a variety of D.J.s who work with us - and we specialize in matching the best D.J. to your specific event.

Our calendar changes daily, so please call or e-mail us to discuss your date.

Common Questions & Answers

Q: How much do you charge?
A: The rate for a disc jockey and sound reinforcement for your event is factored by many details, i.e. location, number of guests, amount/type of equipment needed, experience of the disc jockey and/or sound technician, etc… As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for" and it’s definitely true when it comes to sound and music for your wedding! Rates vary for most credible services from $135 to $235 per hour. In regards to weddings, a good point to keep in mind is that you probably couldn't save enough if you end up with a DJ who is working one of his/her first weddings – and it's yours!

Q: Who will be the DJ at my wedding?
A: We will do our best to match up your personality and style with that of your DJ. In addition, you will know well in advance who your DJ will be, how he/she will dress, etc. and have the opportunity to see or meet him/her prior to your wedding.

Q: What kind of music do you have?
A: Emmett's Sound Productions has a wide range of music including all genres and the most current, up-to-date hits. We are very organized and able to easily accommodate your musical interest and needs.

Q: Will my music be too loud?
A: Emmett's Sound Productions prides itself on quality, including providing adequate equipment and implementing a multiple speaker arrangement when needed in order to distribute the audio evenly (providing clarity vs. volume). Our properly engineered systems deliver intelligible sound for music, toasts and emcee announcements alike.
